ArkPixels 1.4.2: a more personal library, game posts and recaps to share

Game and statistics posts, monthly and yearly recaps, custom navigation and Hub sections: explore 1.4.2 with real app captures and practical steps.

ArkPixels 1.4.2: a populated Steam library and a shareable Alien: Isolation post in the dark Forest theme.

Version 1.4.2 gives you more control over what you see and what you share: customizable navigation and Hub sections, clearer cards, adjustable backgrounds, game posts, library statistics and Gaming Recap. Steam imports also work without notification permission.

A game collection is personal: the titles you own, the details you want to see, the games waiting for another evening and the progress you want to remember. ArkPixels 1.4.2 adds tools to arrange that collection around your habits and prepare images containing the information you choose to share.

The images in this article come from the Android app and a real Steam library. Identifying details are hidden. Imported Steam playtime remains separate from sessions recorded in ArkPixels.

Create a post for a game

Open a game in your library and choose Share story from its menu. The editor centers the image within the window and overlays controls for format, background, data and sharing. Its outline marks the exported area: editor buttons and controls are excluded from the PNG.

Four formats are available: story 1080×1920, square 1080×1080, portrait 1080×1350 and landscape 1200×675. Change the format to adapt the same content to where you want to share it.

Under Data, select up to six available details. These can include status, playtime, achievements, progress, platforms and other information present for the game. Choices update the preview immediately and are remembered for the profile, without an additional Apply action. Reset privacy defaults restores the default selection; check the enabled fields before sharing.

The artwork combines stepped frames, hard shadows and pixel accents with the app's theme colors. The first selected numerical metric receives more space, while other details appear in compact cards. Long titles and lists may be visually abbreviated.

DLC cards show up to three covers and a +N indicator for additional items. DLC titles stay out of the exported image, but remain available in the data selector and accessibility descriptions. Missing covers use a placeholder.

Use Background to choose and reposition the image. This adjustment does not change the background on the game's detail page. Share exports the image and opens Android's normal sharing chooser so you can select the destination.

Share your library statistics

Game-post and recap editors are also available in Free. Visible data depends on your library and your plan's synchronization features: for example, Steam achievement imports are part of advanced Pro/Family synchronization.

In Statistics, Share statistics opens a post using your collection's current totals. The Data selector controls which metrics are visible; the image uses the same four available formats as game posts.

Its background can include a collage of up to six covers or a graphic without games. Covers respect statistics exclusions, while colors and playtime formatting follow the profile's preferences. The preview marks the exported area and keeps editor controls out of the final image.

This is a snapshot of the library when you prepare it. Gaming Recap instead describes a specific period. Available statistics sections depend on the plan: the overview is included in Free, while all sections require Pro or Family.

Look back at a month or year with Gaming Recap

Gaming Recap collects activity for a month or year. The period selector distinguishes available recaps, periods without activity and future periods. Move between slides with taps or swipes; accessible previous and next controls provide another way to navigate.

The story opens with a summary and adds slides where data is available: recorded time and active days, the featured game, the main platform and achievements. Time and platform slides require valid sessions in the period. With dated achievements alone, you get the opening, the game with the most achievements and the achievement total; no invented time or platform results.

Recorded time comes from ArkPixels sessions, excluding pauses and respecting exclusions. The featured game is the one with the most effective session time in the period. If no valid sessions exist but dated achievements are available, the recap can feature the game with the most achievements unlocked. Achievements are not converted into hours, and lifetime Steam playtime is not artificially assigned to a particular month.

The captures for this article show a real achievement-based recap. No sessions were created to populate it.

Use Data to decide what appears. Hiding the featured game also hides its cover. Share exports the current slide as a vertical story; Create post prepares the recap in any of the four supported formats. Exporting a slide requires at least one of its available metrics to remain visible.

The Gaming Recap summary card in Hub and Explore brings you back to the latest completed period with activity. It reopens Your recap is ready even after the invitation was dismissed. Its position and visibility in the Hub are customizable. Without an available recap, the app shows the actual empty state.

Choose your navigation bar

Open Profile > Customize navigation, or touch and hold a navigation item, to choose and reorder the first four destinations. Profile stays fixed in the fifth position.

The panel contains an interactive preview. Tap a slot to select a section, or touch and hold it to drag it into a different position. Available destinations include Library, Hub, Explore, Search, Sessions, Backlog alerts, Collections, Saved searches, News and Steam friends. Each destination can appear only once.

Apply saves your configuration and Cancel discards the draft. Reset restores the initial preview, which still needs Apply to save it. Choices are independent for each profile. Destinations removed from the bar remain available through All sections.

The bar's height follows its content at larger text sizes, while screen readers use the destinations' full names.

Arrange the Hub around your habits

Reorder sections changes the order and visibility of Hub cards. Touch and hold a section to drag it, and use its switch to show or hide it. These changes save immediately. Default order restores the original order and visibility.

The Functions card, also available in Explore, groups app destinations into collection, activities and progress, discovery, and account tools. Labels identify sections already assigned to the navigation bar and the fixed Profile slot. It provides access to less frequently used tools without using a navigation slot.

Clearer cards and adjustable backgrounds

Open Profile > Settings > General > Library card display to select up to four details to emphasize the information useful to your collection. Presets switch between minimal and more detailed presentations, with clearer treatment of game status and ratings. The card's metadata control opens the other available values.

From a game's menu, Customize background opens a selection of covers, artwork and screenshots. Drag and pinch in the editor, or use its directional arrows and − / + controls. Zoom ranges from 1× to 4× relative to the crop that fills the header, without leaving empty edges.

Confirm saves the adjustment; Cancel and Back retain the previous background. Reset centers it at minimum zoom, and Change image reopens the picker. Game-page adjustments remain separate from share-post backgrounds.

Import Steam without notifications

Use Library > Add > Steam to link a public profile and synchronize its games. Notifications are optional for imports and Retry. The initial panel offers Enable notifications and Continue without; dismissing it cancels only the start of the operation and retains the input and selections.

During the import, the screen shows the percentage, current game and progress, with an option to cancel. Synchronization continues when you leave the page. The disabled-notifications card lets you enable notifications later without starting another import.

The result summary preserves the latest outcome and issues. Complete synchronizations can also detect missing Steam copies and friend-list changes. A missing copy is not removed automatically: Review Steam changes lets you keep it, remove selected copies or decide later. Private, incomplete or invalid responses do not establish removal. Imports depend on Steam profile and game-data visibility.

Easier access to profile, account and benefits

Profile offers Edit profile and Account settings. Online account changes and verification depend on connectivity and the API. Switching accounts, switching profiles and logging out retain their separate flows.

Subscriptions separate plan selection from management of active access. The comparison describes Free, Plus, Pro and Family. Available prices, offers and terms come from Google Play. The summary distinguishes personal subscriptions, shared access and assigned access. Included-benefit cards open the relevant tools without automatically starting backups or synchronization.

Promotional announcements depend on actual eligibility and catalog availability; they are not necessarily shown to every account.

News, widgets and other refinements

Open Profile > Settings > RSS news notifications for digest and quiet-hour controls. RSS digests group new articles from enabled sources for the profile. Checks run about every six hours. Opening News clears RSS alerts and pauses them for at least six hours; Quiet hours can delay delivery further. RSS notifications require Android notification permission and enabled sources. They are not instant alerts for every article.

To add a widget, long-press an empty Home screen area, open Widgets, and choose an ArkPixels widget. Appearance preferences are under Profile > Settings > Widgets; sizes and resizing depend on the Android launcher.

Widgets make game states easier to recognize. Small lists retain the title and main detail; larger lists add secondary details. The statistics widget progresses from games and hours to four metrics, recent activity and rankings, depending on the space available in the launcher. In the timer, Choose game opens your collection: choose a title and platform, then use Start timer when you actually begin playing. Change selects another title. The timer widget can follow the current session and retains its start, pause, resume and stop controls. A fresh installation without sessions shows its actual inactive state. Fictional picker previews should not be mistaken for your library's data. In layouts that include them, covers appear before starting; active and paused timers use that space for the title, time and controls. A timer without a specific game selection can follow the current session.

Version 1.4.2 also refines scrolling after game changes, direct IGDB metadata refresh, news and sharing previews. Existing tools such as Play Next, backlog reminders and session recording provide the context for these additions.

Start by importing or opening your collection, choosing useful card details, placing frequently used sections in your navigation bar and preparing a game post. For recaps, check that the selected period contains sessions or dated achievements, then choose only the information you want to share.
